Secure Eye on Neighborhood Growth

Cleveland, OH, Tuesday, March 14, 2006 – The Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization has embarked on a program to make the Detroit Corridor a safer place to work and live. Originally spearheaded by Ward 17 Councilman Matt Zone and Nelson S. Beckford, Assistant Director, Detroit Shoreway CDO is focused on making the Detroit Avenue area safer by providing around the clock camera surveillance coverage.

With the donated services of Solar Systems Networking, Inc.’s Business Developer Gary Herrmann and President Kenneth Fanger, the Detroit Shoreway CDO was able to create a solution to meet its goals of making a safer community. Hal-Com Inc., which has also recently moved their offices to Detroit Road, will be implementing the initial camera solution at 6501 Detroit Avenue. Hal-Com is also providing the use of their building’s surveillance system to the Detroit Shoreway CDO, free of charge.

"The camera solution is one component of a larger strategy to encourage greater community involvement in issues related to safety," explained Beckford.

Councilman Zone believes strongly that this will make a positive difference in his ward.

“With programs like the Camera Security System, we are creating a secure environment now and into the future for the people in our ward and making it attractive for families and business to come back to the city of Cleveland.”

Chris Hanson of Hal-Com said, “It is wonderful to be helping the great community we are joining.”

Gary Herrmann of Solar Systems Networking, Inc. became involved after Hanson of Hal-Com informed him of this exciting project. Over the past two months, he has helped to define the scope of the project, as well as design a plan for it to be successful.

Herrmann said: “It was a great pleasure working with Nelson, Chris, and Matt in making this project a reality. I am excited about the future growth this will bring to Cleveland.
