Solar Systems was founded in 1994 as a network design company focused on the network needs for small businesses and educational organizations.  In 2000, we became Solar Systems Networking, Inc. (C class corporation).

Lucy Fanger, an original partner, joins with Charlotte Feldman in assuming the executive leadership positions within the company and directing the business activities.

At Solar Systems Networking, Inc., we understand that technology is just a tool to get you where you need to go, and is often only a component in the total solution.  Our success is built on our main goal of earning the trust of our customers, which starts by truly caring and focusing on understanding our customer’s needs, followed by designing solutions to meet them, and then ensuring that the end result meets or exceeds those expectations.

We have expanded significantly from our traditional IT-networking roots, to the three core competency areas of expertise it provides today: Technology Solutions, Wireless Solutions, and Managed Solutions.  The full array of services we offer are designed to provide a complete end-to-end solution to meet our various customer’s business and technology needs.  Our client base has expanded from its government roots of school systems and cities to all levels of local, state, and federal government, and our business clientele has expanded from several small/mid-sized businesses to include a broad range of industries, including non-profit organizations and start-up companies.

In addition to our in-house expertise, Solar Systems Networking, Inc. has also formed alliances and partnerships with a variety of other businesses in the Northeast Ohio area, which provide a diverse array of deep expertise in specific technical and business services. 

Our experience and relationships in vendor management allow us to easily match the right skill-sets to truly meet our customer’s needs, best value solution that is right for them.

Company Milestones

• 1994 - Solar Systems Networking, Inc. begins operations as Solar Systems

• 1997 - Designed and implemented the first successful wireless network in a public school system in the state of Ohio for Cuyahoga Heights City Schools.

• 2002 - Started a new product line called Net-Wise® in response to the needs of our clients to economically distribute Internet service throughout large buildings (hotels, schools, apartments).

• 2004 - Lucy Fanger became CEO and actively began to leverage Solar Systems Networking, Inc. as a small / female owned business, increasing our ability to secure government contracts, registering with local, state, and federal organizations.

• 2005 - Working with the City of Berea, the Cuyahoga County Libraries to provided external wireless access to the Berea community park.

• 2007 – Digital Inclusion – Public wireless network access.

• 2008 – Smart Building Plus, going Green with a system that will allow wireless network access and give our clients the ability to monitor and control their security and HVAC applications

• 2009 – Moved into our new Green corporate offices along the renovated Euclid Avenue corridor

• 2010 - Awarded the 2009 Best of Business Award in the Data and Voice Services category
